The Care Centre is comprised of 21 Frail Care Rooms, 1 Sickbay unit and 19 Mid Care Rooms. Operational management is provided by St George’s Village Management Association. The Scheme is fully developed and the property is not encumbered by bonds. The property is registered in the name of the Johannesburg Diocesan Trustees in trust for St George’s Home for Boys (COACH) and maintained by Grace Village Management (Pty) Ltd.

The Scheme is fully developed and the property is not encumbered by bonds. The property is registered in the name of the Johannesburg Diocesan Trustees in trust for St George’s Home for Boys (COACH) and maintained by Grace Village Management (Pty) Ltd.
The Life Rights apply to the Cottages for the lifetime of an occupant and the surviving spouse. On the death of the surviving spouse, or on the surrender of the Life Rights when moving to the Care Center, 75% of the original purchase price is refundable.
While similar all our cottages carry their own personality and are equipped with modern luxuries such as fibre internet.
ABOUT OUR CARE CENTRE
Mid Care rooms, as part of the Care Centre, consist of a large room with a private bathroom and a kitchenette.
They are suitable mainly for single persons, but we can accommodate a limited number of couples depending on availability, who require meals, domestic services, laundry and limited nursing. Residents in Mid Care are expected to furnish the room to their own requirements.
Frail Care rooms, as part of the Care Centre, consist of a room and en suite bathroom which includes a shower. They are suitable mainly for single persons who require substantial nursing assistance, meals, domestic services and laundry. 24 hour nursing is available.
MID CARE
Our Mid Care facility can accommodate Residents who require occasional assistance with bathing, laundry, housekeeping and management of medicine.
FRAIL CARE
Frail Care is a facility available to Residents where our friendly, qualified staff offer 24 hour nursing care. Our residents enjoy the safety and comfort of a well run care centre.
DINING HALL
Our Dining Hall is equipped to take 100 people and caters for all Care Centre meals as well as lunch to our residents and guests. Sunday lunch is always very popular.
We host “themed” dinners once a month such as Seafood and salads, Christmas in July, Breakfast for dinner, Thanksgiving etc.
RECREATIONAL ROOM
Our recreational room contains a snooker table and the men meet regularly and play in a league against other retirement villages. Bridge is very popular and there are many individual groups which one can join. Canasta and games as well as bingo feature prominently. We host regular movie nights. We have a super group of ladies that meet once a week bringing along their needlework, enjoying tea and biscuits while making goods for charity.
GUEST COTTAGE
St George’s Village also offers a guest cottage which sleeps 4 people. (double bed and sleeper couch). This cottage has tea making facilities and is fully equipped for self-catering. This is available for resident’s friends and families who may also make use of our gazebo and braai area facilities.

THE PROCESS
Who is Eligible - Cottage applications, together with the payment of a non-refundable deposit of R2, 500-00, may be submitted by persons between ages of 55 and 75 years only.
Life Rights will be granted to applicants over the age of 60 and acceptable to Grace Village Management and St George’s Village Management Association.
When is the Life Right Payable - Fifteen percent of the value of the purchase price of the Life Right must be deposited on signature of the contracts.
The balance is due by latest, the date of occupation, a maximum of 3 months from date of concluding the contracts.
When is the Cottage available & what are the costs involved - Cottages become available from time to time. They are suitable for single persons or couples who are able to care for themselves. The purchase price of Life Rights for Cottages varies, depending on the size of the Cottage (ranging R1.1m – R3.2m). Monthly levies for the Cottages vary. A once-off entrance fee is required once the contract is signed and finalized.
